About him
I am a soon to be divorced man seeking love and companionship for the years ahead.
I am loyal, considerate and faithful, but above all honest - even if that gets me into trouble. Have a good memory - even elephantine as a colleague once described it.
Politically I am left leaning, liberal, anti-authoritarian, compassionate and anti-brexit! Also a big supporter of the NHS both ideologically and for personal reasons. I can be technical at times as a civil/mechanical/bridge engineer and like to see the evidence before coming to a conclusion.
Keen reader, though I must kick the habit of buying books every time I go to a bookshop, as the backlog is getting longer. Can be anything from a history/biography, fiction, fantasy novel or Private Eye.

I have a wide ranging and sometimes eclectic interests in music, liking most genres including classical, pop, jazz, hip-hop and r and b, only real dislikes are some modern operas and rap. I also hate Peter Grimes, though I could be open to persuasion.
Interested in railway journeys and events, as it has been a way of meeting new people and socialising. A train trip on a chartered steam train through the Western Highlands would be my idea of fun.
Ideal date could be anything from a walk in the country to a good pub, a play at a theatre, an evening concert (close enough to hear every note) in London or the ‘provinces’ if that doesn’t sound too provincial! Or a visit round a garden or stately home - I am a National Trust member and lapsed English Heritage member willing to rejoin.
Have some friends in opera and the arts. So l support their projects when I can.
Have walked in mountains of Wales, Scotland and England and in the Alps so am experienced in leading walks and map reading, but might need to train up for a long strenuous walk.
My ex-wife got our dogs so I am overcompensating and saying hello to most dogs if they are friendly. Expect any walk to take a bit longer.

I would happily go to any event that the right lady wishes, as the event itself would be secondary to being in her company. Though as I am up for new experiences as well, tickle my taste buds with suggested events.
