Recently widowed, I'm slowly getting used to living alone - I dont like this lonely side of life as it is - I think what I miss most is the "quiet togetherness" that couples have, or had.
I keep myself pretty well occupied most of the time with the garden and house , I do voluntary work one day a week, and am a member of the ramblers, also local clubs and the NT
I tend not to read much at the moment, though that may change and prefer radio 4 over TV for news coverage.
Lived and worked abroad for a number of years, and travelled extensively, particularly around SE Asia
I would like to meet someone who has similar interests to me, though thats not a necessity, a friend would be a good start.

That's pretty impossible to describe - someone who shares common interests and philosophy of life with mine, who feels comfortable in my company and vice versa, and who appreciates some quiet time together
I'm comfortable talking, don't appreciate constant messaging, perhaps arrange an initial meeting, see how it goes and take it from there, if we both agree
Ideally within a reasonable driving distance to enable a mutually convenient venue to be agreed, though that's not set in stone
