About her
I think I'm a good listener. I can talk too, but I'm always more interested in other people and what they have to say. I like cooking and eating good food. I like exploring - castles, new-to-me towns and villages, driving though the countryside and visiting garden centres. I like design in terms of architecture, interior design and garden design - I'm thinking of Versailles! I enjoy sampling new restaurants but I also like cooking - certainly for other people; it's always a little boring just cooking for oneself! I'm very open to new experiences, but camping is not for me these days! I did my girl-guiding 60 years ago...
Although retired I still belong to my profession's union and organise a retirees' lunch club three times a year. I love other people's dogs but don't want the responsibility of having my own. I'd like to be funny, but I'm not good at making jokes!

I'd like to meet an intelligent man who is not stuck in his ways, but is open to embrace new experiences. I prefer a man who is not too serious but also not continually joking!
A relationship would work if he was an educated man, interesting, thoughtful and courteous. I like to be treated with respect, but not to the extent that a man keeps rushing ahead to open doors... I like a man who is comfortable in his own skin and relaxed. I'm happy with a 'talker' as I'm a good listener.
I like cleanliness and appropriate clothing. Scruffy old jeans are sometimes the right thing, other times it's nice to know your date will dress smartly.
What would I consider a deal-breaker? I guess the same things that would put most people off; poor hygiene, lack of consideration for others, thoughtlessness, inappropriate jokes, racist remarks, sulkiness, oh, and very right-wing political views. I appreciate compassion for others who are less fortunate and can't tolerate laughing at the less fortunate.
