Friendly, funny, intelligent, honest, caring, loving, a good listener, a good and loyal friend, interested in current affairs, youthful outlook. Looking for a good friend, companion, lover, to share good times with, to support if times are not so good. It would be nice if things were to develop further with the right person.
Liberal minded on most things but open to all opinions, stylish, into music and movies, well read, care for the environment and nature. I love ( some ) cities and the countryside equally, but leaning more to the latter so long as I can have easy access to the former. It's all about balance.
I retired from full time paid work in February 2024 so I now have lots more time to be doing the things I love. My career was mostly spent in housing, with many years as a CEO with several housing associations. Now I have the luxury of more time for travelling. Favourite places in the UK - North Wales, the Yorkshire coast and Yorkshire Dales, the North West, Cornwall, and the Chilterns.
Outside the UK I love the US and have travelled widely in Europe.
I am also involved with a Livery company in the City of London and wish to help it continue to thrive. I am a member of most of the larger London galleries and I visit regularly.
I served two terms as a district councillor and for 10 years chaired a national lobbying group on housing. I am no longer actively involved, but I retain a keen interest in current affairs - national, international, and local.
I like dressing up for occasions but my preferred mode is casual. Which underlines the fact that I like and value tradition but in a nice way I have the rebel gene! Still crazy after all these years sort of sums it up.
I recently discovered I'm a Piscean ( just ! ), so I tick many of the boxes for that sign.
I have lived in Hertfordshire since 1988 but I am originally from Manchester and I have worked in most parts of England. Not sure where I will be living in the future - no plans right now but very open minded. Let's see what the future brings.
