Seriously, as long as you have a sense of humour, are open and honest and we like some of the same things it’s a good starting point. Why do people always write ‘no baggage - no stress’ etc - by the time you get to our age we’re bound to have baggage and everyone has stress at some point - it’s how you deal with it and whether you find a partner who will help work things through if needed. It’s a two way street as far as I’m concerned - partner means just that :)
