About her
Never thought I would be writing a profile like this (and to be honest have some reservations) but now try to approach life open to possibilities. Since becoming a widow I have tried a few different things (surfing, yoga, wine tasting and film classes to name a few) so why not on-line dating? So what (to use a Marie Kondo phrase) 'sparks joy?' A re-discovered an appetite for music and surprisingly this seems, courtesy of the Spotify algorithm, to be a lot of Americana and seeing live bands again. Listening to podcasts when driving as a Labour Party member and Guardian reader unsurprising liberal/left-wing political ones as well as usual Radio 4 selections. Yoga and a 5km run or cycle ride become part of my morning routines, thanks to Covid but my favourite form of exercise is walking and lots of options in the Midlands.
Somewhat challenged by any tick box description of faith/belief - coming from the Christian tradition but finding a more open spirituality a better fit especially Buddhist meditation.
I am an extrovert, energised by being with people, always want to talk through ideas and experiences. Have a good circle of friends, and think I am good at friendship - still meet up and go away with school and university friends regularly as well as being part of a large functional family network too. I have been widowed for 7 years and had a good marriage so I do miss male companionship.

Who knows?! I spent 25 years with someone who was very different to me and did not tick some of the boxes I would have described as essential so not sure how the algorithms work... I am hoping that with maturity comes a more relaxed and flexible approach to dating - maybe even some wisdom. It would help if you enjoy the outdoors, music, film, reading and eating out.
