About him
I was born in London, and have led quite a varied life, having lived in Luxembourg for many years. My father is an Indian born, Pakistani-British national, and my mother was English.
I practice Transcendental Meditation (TM), but love my religion too. I think that's why I adore Istanbul and Turkiye so much, because I can do advanced meditation in a group for peace and be in a more Muslim society when outside. Istanbul is also city I can revisit time and again. It's long and layered history simply fascinates me.
My lifestyle is such that I look young for my age, so people tell me! Meditation has a lot to do with it, as does being vegetarian and eating organic food!
In terms of work, I've been in the public, private and charitable sectors. In Luxembourg I worked predominantly in the financial sector, and left the sector to teach English there privately. I have done this without fee for retired Gurkhas in Oxford, as well as voluntarily worked on administration and reception at a local mental health charity there.
In Rendlesham, Suffolk, I became a live-in carer to an Oxford University educated 93 year old. The time I spent there spanned over three years, although I did have breaks away. I found the role hard work, especially during Covid, but wonderfully fulfilling! Never a dull moment, especially with a man of his background.
I was married (until my divorce) for 16 years, and have three gorgeous daughters, who still live in Luxembourg. One is now a student in Wallonia, Belgium.
I speak French to a certain degree, as well as some Luxembourgish, a bit of German, and a few words of Urdu. I wish I could speak more languages!
In terms of meditation, I did a three month stint in Istanbul, Turkey. I felt really at home there and have gone back for shorter periods since. I feel I lead a far more spiritual life now than ever before, and would like to continue in that direction. Nevertheless I am still quite a sociable person, and love bringing people together, and I think I'm very down-to-earth!
About his ideal match
I am looking for someone who can really love me for who I am. Gentle, kind and appreciative. They don't have to be Muslim, or practicing TM (Transcendental Meditation), but at least have a tendency to be supportive and compassionate, understanding of my now long periods of meditation twice a day, and definitely loyal! All in all a beautiful soul!
It would be great if they have an interest in current affairs, love beautiful architecture, landscapes and gardens, and have an interest in meteorology as well.
Wonderful if they were a good cook too, are environmentally aware, prefer organic food wherever possible, and like foreign languages.
