Considerate, caring, active, fun loving, witty, articulate, intelligent, slim, dark, good looking, passionate & romantic. These are all things that I wish I was! I am, however, successful but not flash; a nice guy but not a wimp; red-blooded but not a player; confident but self-deprecating; a reasonable cook and a good dancer but still straight. I am a bit too cheeky at times, but also know how to treat a lady and appreciate a lady who knows how to be treated.
Being active including cycling most days & regular swimming & dancing has helped keep me reasonably fit & slim, although I would like to be a bit broader, a bit fitter and a bit less wrinkled. Otherwise, I am pretty comfortable in my own skin and make up for any shortcomings in other ways. Ahem!
I am passionate about music (rock, pop, dance, soul, jazz, funk & soulful house etc) and I absolutely love dancing (disco & ceroc/modern jive). And you know what they say - good on the dancefloor, good in the bedroom. Just a shame I am hopeless on the dancefloor. I also enjoy body boarding, live comedy, pub quizzes & movies and I love the odd game of croquet, frisbee or cards (friends only - no gambling). I adore the great outdoors & the elements, especially the sea and the snow. I like having a go at DIY and am happy to put some shelves up for you, but cannot promise they will stay up.
As you can gather, I hate to be sitting around doing nothing - you will always find me on the dance floor at social gatherings, rather than propping up the bar, and in the sea on holiday rather than sunbathing. Having said that, I do like idling the time away with the right person over a coffee & a bit of one to one conversation.
I am fortunate enough to now be quite well off, but have found that money and the trappings that go with it bring little more than a sense of security & choices. I would trade in the lot to be with the right lady - see below!
About his ideal match
I love feminine, slim, attractive, bright, well spoken and cheerful girls. Ladies who take themselves too seriously or feel they have something to prove do not really appeal. A lady who is educated and successful is no more attractive to me than one who is engaging, feminine, has an enquiring mind and a sense of fun. I am fairly particular about personal hygiene standards and look after myself very well. I would expect a prospective datee to do the same - unwashed hair and unbrushed teeth a definite turn off!
My only pet hates are inconsiderate or particularly loud people, being let down, call centres and technology (yawn!!). Oh and fake boobs (don't do it girls - you are lovely just as you are).
I am very close to my grown up son, James, and have lots of lovely friends and an active social life, but what is really missing is that special lady to care about, share experiences and be happy with.
I'm not really into endless 'chatting' online either and am not too keen on the overuse of text speak (eg 'Lol' every fifth word). So, please, no messages just saying 'Hi' or 'Wot u up to'. I like ladies with something to say...... so long as it's not TOO much (that is a joke, btw!). Finally, if you are indeed interested, meeting up quickly is a must as, otherwise, things have a tendency to just fizzle out - I want to meet someone special, not just have an online relationship.
