They're great aren't they? Hello, thanks for looking. This is full but might give you an idea of me. I'm quite new to Yorkshire since March 2022 and am now settled . I'm healthy, happy, quiet/ modest rather than shy. I am long retired so have plenty of time to travel , visit friends and generally enjoy life. I don't act my age unless I have to and it's appropriate! I'm more intelligent than intellectual and more comfortable than wealthy, housetrained (toilet seat down!) and self sufficient round the house. I have a wide ranging sense of humour and equally wide interests. I am from an aviation background and obviously still get around for leisure. I have worked around the UK but also in Africa and the Middle East. I also travel widely by train both here and abroad - such a great way to see a country. I like to think I'm good company whatever the age or intellectual range . Like most I have contradictions so the box ticking is difficult. but am an animal lover who has no problem eating a little meat, a Tory with some liberal views and a townie who loves the country. I have a wide range of interests; reading, politics, travel, cinema/ ballet to name a few and love a debate. I watch TV selectively; especially wildlife, factual programmes/ documentaries. I am not possessive; it's great to have shared interests but equally vital to have one's own space and time whilst staying loyal to one's partner. I have my own house, car and hair (especially dyed for the pic !). No tattoos or piercings, ouch ! Overall I'm an ok guy; I adore animals and believe in good manners and behaviour. I have no 'baggage'. I'm relaxed but serious when need be. I abhor animal cruelty, both in the home and as a 'sport' (?), why do people do that? I try and keep fairly fit on treadmill/ bike. Am not hung up on a reasonable distance - there's always the car/ train/ private helicopter (if only !). Thanks for looking, and I wish you well in any case. Mike x

Ownership of a distillery and/ or ice cream factory and/ or a curry house a distinct advantage. Sharing similar views and characteristics to me, so intelligent, articulate, presentable, self sufficient and independent (although it's nice to be needed and personally I do a mean plug change and putting up of shelves) but at the same time wanting someone in her life . Wide sense of humour, an enquiring mind and a love of travel, the arts, current affairs, animals and chocolate. Own home/ car/ hair/ teeth would be nice. Hopefully you don't check your mobile every few minutes when in company. You'd probably agree that long email exchanges don't serve much purpose; a few exchanges and subsequent real chat normally indicates whether we should meet or just wish each other well. Dislike of musicals, golf and country music a definite bonus. A photo would be nice! xx
