About him
I am exceptionally well travelled and have experienced a few things in life.
I work in tv as a cameraman and have just finished a stretch of thirty years working in frontline national and international
television news. I have filmed in some of the most dangerous and inhospitable places on earth and that has given me a philosophy on life that I value greatly.
Before working in tv my background was in horse racing and the army.
I am crazy about nature and love the countryside. I love being out in the wilds. Having spent a large part of my life roaming the world with a video camera, I enjoy photographing nature with a semi pro stills camera, it puts me back in the 'zone' of hunting pictures.
I am looking for a friend, and soul-mate, some whizzbang chemistry that burns like gunpowder. I freely admit to being a romantic, and have been known to have sudden unexpected bursts of being affectionate in public and private....Traits that I dislike are snobbishness, pompousness, bad manners, arrogance, and waiting to find out what the crowd thinks, before forming an opinion. (I also don't like bullies.)
My male friends would say that I am tough, fair and honest, and will always defend those who are unable to defend themselves.
My humour is dry, ironic, irreverent, dysfunctional,
and I am also very hard to offend.

Just over a year ago I published my first book.
It chronicles two particular assignments that I undertook in the early nineties...Inside the siege of Sarajevo and the Kurdish refugee crisis. The satisfaction that I get from writing fills the gap left by not working in journalism anymore. (The second book is almost finished.) It chronicles my involvement in the coverage of Kuwait's liberation from Iraqi occupation.
These days I earn my crust televising horse racing, down in the parade ring, winners enclosure, around the horses I love.
