About him
I'm maintaining my eternal optimism here and putting a foot out the door. Nowadays though, that foot is usually preceded by my lovely young dog who keeps me company most places I go. We amble the downs several times a day and she keeps me from becoming far too engrossed in my work, which I'm really fortunate to enjoy.
Exercise has always been a part of my life, though I've never been ruled by it but I enjoy all the usual stuff too; walking in the hills, on quiet beaches, remote areas of the UK and exploring our history.
I'm an avid reader of almost anything though I do favour books (academic or fictional) with a historical focus and I'm also a bit of a nerd, especially when I'm with my old school friends who I regularly meet up with.
