I live in a village 1 hour's drive north of the capital, where I enjoy countryside walks with my dog - especially if there's a nice view and a pub lunch along the route. Occasionally, I get down to London for the city lights. Rural or urban, I like both.

I forage fruit from the hedgerows and make apple butter. apple vinegar, apple chutneys, chilli picked pears, and sloe gin. OK, I'll stop there, but see once moving to the country, I find it amazing how much can be made from the natural produce around us.
Since discovering Open G tuning and removing 1 of the 6 strings, I am learning the Rolling Stones back catalogue on electric guitar. Neighbours are thankful my house is detached.
Sold my motorbikes a few years ago. I miss them, but my dog doesn't, as I spend more time taking her for walks.
I want to get back into drawing and painting, but it's tough getting on a good art course, so I'm on the waiting list for Jan-2026 already. Fingers crossed.
I am in the local amdram society and the village book club, which meets down the pub.
I volunteer to chauffeur visitors with mobility challenges around the voluminous grounds of an English Heritage country house in a golf buggy. I haven't been assaulted with a walking stick (yet), so I'm doing alright.
