Join me? I'm friendly and easy going, more introverted than extrovert but endlessly interested in people, their stories and our myriad similarities and synchronicities.
I treasure old things more than new, and my friends and family more than anything.
I recently acquired a very nervous cat who runs away from me most of the time. I'm hopeful she'll be good company eventually, but I treasure her regardless.
There's been a strange period of adjustment to life on my own, and I'm now looking to the wider world again to make new friends and find new fulfilling ways of being. That will mean the arts in some (or several) forms, and I hope interesting and creative people. In the meantime now the evenings are drawing in I've dug out my wool and am busy knitting again - nothing too complicated, just fingerless gloves, but I'm missing a lot of the plotlines on telly, and there's a lot of unpicking due to all my mistakes. Telly and knitting don't go together very well.
I love listening to music, especially local gigs, and although I don't play a note myself I'm a great audience, an aspect of life that is much missed, though I still go when I get the chance if friends or family are involved.
Now is a time of waiting, not actually waiting for anything specific, just a pause, creating space for ideas and possibilities to flow. To that end I'm exploring watercolour painting, a change from my old life working with clay.
I'm active but not sporty (I like gardening, walking, dancing) and have an endlessly enquiring mind. I enjoy reading (novels and non-fiction), cooking / home making, decorating my house, restoring things (clothes, furniture, my home) and lively conversation with open-minded people among many other things.
Reading all that back I should add that I find a lot to laugh about and am not as serious minded the above might suggest!

I'm not looking for an ideal match, just to make new friends with a hopeful outlook and zest for making the most of life.
I like building meaningful relationships with people in real life, not online, which means I'm really only open to meeting people fairly local to me, ie from the Reading, Henley, Wallingford general area. I drive, and it's probably important that you drive too.
