I guess I’d describe myself as having very traditional values, and these are the qualities I admire most in others - Honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, loyalty and care for others..
I’m warm hearted, friendly and thoughtful.
I have energy and a zest for life, and friends tell me I don’t look my age. I don’t feel 68 either and did a 36 mile trek to Macchu Pichu in 2023.
I love to keep busy, to try new things and places and meet different people.
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many different countries over the years and seen lots of the U.K. but there is still so much more of the world I’d like to visit. I love India as it’s so diverse and fascinating, and I’ve also been to many of the Greek islands, but there is so much more on my bucket list.
I dislike anything too artificial or contrived so my favourite places will always be around green spaces, country or coastal walks, rough seas, hills, sunsets and starry skies. Having said that I thought New York was an incredible city and would love to return.
I keep myself fit, healthy and active, exercise regularly, walk as often as I can either alone or with a walking group, go to the gym and do Pilates every week.
I enjoy good company, being with friends , intelligent conversation, having fun, meals out, meals in, live music and generally making the most of life.
I read quite a lot, enjoy cooking, visiting the theatre or cinema and attending concerts. I love Northern soul music.I enjoy nights in watching a good film or something interesting on tv, but I really can’t watch tv for the sake of it.
I care about my appearance ,and health and take pride in keeping my home looking nice.
Age is not what matters in life but the energy, attitude and enthusiasm we put into it.
Even though I’m lucky enough to have a wide circle of friends, I’ve taken 3 or 4 holidays alone, and am happy in my own company.
However, being an incurable romantic and in search of that lovely soul deep connection, I will always think life is better when it’s shared with someone special.

Would be someone who shares my value system and is truly honest and reliable, is warm, caring, friendly, sincere and loving.
I really dislike bad manners, especially people who are rude, thoughtless and unkind to others, people who don’t really listen when you’re talking to them. I hate smoking and struggle with tattoos, but could live with small indiscreet ones.
I don’t like men with big egos and need someone who is sincere, genuinely honest, a good communicator and not afraid of showing emotion and sharing their feelings. That would be my idea of special.
Someone who has energy, drive, personality, is fun, takes a pride in their appearance, is health conscious and looks after themselves. But mostly, someone who wants to make the most of this life and make memories with me.
Although I enjoy relaxing at home in front of the tv, I’m not ready to spend most of my time there, and neither would my ideal partner.
Age is not the issue, but energy and attitude to life is.
I dream of finding a genuine connection built on friendship and respect, and a fulfilling and happy life with someone special.
