About him
I am an open-minded optimist who believes that co-operation is better than conflict. My youngest daughter - who is 40 - describes me as the most laid-back person she knows; I take this as a compliment, even if it isn't always meant to be.
At the risk of setting off a "boring" klaxon, my life revolves around a thatched cottage with open fires and a huge rambling garden - with a big greenhouse, veg patch and beehives. I work, a little, from home, and bumble about outside. I can cook, and am regarded as being "arty". Other than that, I read and watch a bit of TV - not soaps, reality TV or "popular culture". I'm not a snob; I just find them boring.
This life satisfies me fine, but I do like to share things - including theatre, meals out and expeditions. Everything, even if it is enjoyable, is only half as nice as it could be with someone else sharing how they feel about it.

Ideally a companion who would like to go to the theatre occasionally - especially Stratford, out for a meal, a walk, plan visits to anything interesting. If you are keen on trying my cooking or sharing my enthusiasm in looking forward to the wild flowers in my garden that would be great.
