I don’t want you to waste time so I’m going to be completely candid. Please read carefully it’s thought through :)
For me it’s mostly about personality, we don’t need to share interests though if you like some of e.g theatre, cinema, eating out, the countryside and it’s pubs, history, sport, investment, quizzes, animals and even some of those quotes about life you find on Pinterest then great…
Short circuiting here’s me……like every guy I’m full of inadequacies but if you look past the imperfections you’ll find intelligence, kindness, friendliness, honesty, openness, good values, an easygoing nature and keen sense of dry humour. Emotionally available! I’m a good catch for someone but some may find me too traditional (ex minor public school, good university, worked in a bank) not energetic or spontaneous enough (told you I’m honest!) Like mostly simple pleasures, friends/family/home/countryside (much prefer country to urban and live in lovely village edge of Surrey Hills but happy to move in time) like some travel but don’t have a massive bucket list. Im a thoughtful planner. Sociable, lots of good friends many who’ve seen me through several decades, more introvert than extrovert but it depends on the situation…
None of us are perfect and the main catch here is I have a difficult right knee and will likely need a partial replacement in the next year or so. Limited to 30 mins walks at present. The right person won’t mind but it’s going to need someone with a bit of patience and tolerance for a time. May as well be upfront. Otherwise healthy
I also have a son with me some of the time but he’s travelling a lot. He’s 22. He’ll move on soon enough just as his sister has. I also have a characterful dog Poppy a Wheaten Terrier….be prepared for the Wheaten Greetin’.
About his ideal match
Kindness, intelligence, emotional intelligence and good values are important, as is a ready smile! Capable but with an affectionate soft centre. You’ll have your own life and interests but an ability to really partner key, so a great communicator with patience and tolerance who understands compromise because coming together at this age is not easy. Basically a lovely person who shouldn’t be on here, bit of spark but calm and relaxed.
Dry sense of humour would be a big plus, can tease and be teased (can you properly laugh at yourself?) and sociability/ good listener. You engage, and don’t talk at. Someone interested in people. If you have a lot of baggage from childhood and/ or past relationships then I’ve found from past experience on here it can be highly destructive of relationships so I hope in that respect you are well balanced and “travel light”
You probably read, certainly have thoughts, and probably get down to the 20% question at least on TVs the 1% club!
