About her
How to respond to “why should people get to know me”? Quite a challenging question. Do I try to ‘sell’ myself? Never very good at that – I work for the NHS where demand overwhelms supply so never really had that problem. Equally us cynical over 60’s are alert to the techniques employed to make us think our life would not be complete without….. I also concluded that my profile is average – average looks (although I’m told I look much younger than my age), average weight, average lifestyle, average taste etc. etc., so no help there really.
I asked friends and family for inspiration – other than ‘you’d be a good catch’ and the usual descriptives of fun, loyal, good company, outgoing, slightly crazy (my lovely son-in-law!) not much to recommend me there.
Let's focus on my outlook on life. My mantra is ‘live every day like it is your last’. My work means I appreciate how precious life is, and how privileged I am to now be in my 60’s. I’m lucky enough to live and work in the beautiful Cotswolds and believe in the importance of giving something back to your community so I am involved with 2 local charities. I have a curiosity about people, culture, and the world we live in – even if I’ve not had the opportunity for frequent foreign travel, I live in hope to do more and there is also so much of our beautiful British Isles yet to explore. I am awed by the amazing science of flight – we get virtual ring-side seats when the aircraft display right over our heads each year for RIAT.
Not particularly sporty – love walking, fair-weather horse-rider, but fair play to those of you who conquer heights and distances each week – I’m happy to be at the finish line with a celebratory drink ready for you. Can’t lie – don’t really get the passion and sometimes snobbery over cooking, I’d rather be chatting to my guests than slaving over the Aga.

My ideal man? Again, difficult to describe, looks not important – it’s the person inside who counts. Honesty, integrity, confident in who they are, tolerant of others, good sense of humour, very definitely a non-smoker. Personal hygiene is more important than an impeccable fashion sense, but if you also scrub up well that’s a bonus. I’d like to meet someone who will introduce me to the important things in their life and who would respect what matters to me. Initially meet up for some low-key drinks/coffee shop, meals, and days out and see where life takes us next.
