About him
Hello. I'm Tim. Thank you for stopping by to read about me.
I asked my closest friend to describe me. Here's what he said; "kind, intelligent, selfless, well read, very English, traditional, reserved with a dry sense of humour, enigmatic, multi skilled and sensitive. Perhaps even too sensitive".
I still work, live quietly and have my own house, car, teeth, hair and much loved elderly cat. I'm soon to be at the end of long medical career, and am looking to start a small furniture restoration business.
I've had an interesting life in the military, the music business and the medical profession, but if you're looking for the travel obsessed, beach loving alpha male then look away. That's not me.
Things I don't like include intimidation, violence, bullies, baseball caps, constant swearing and the mauling of the English language. Examples of the latter include misuse of the apostrophe and the words their, there and they're. Oh and I'm afraid dogs just aren't my cup of tea.
Things I do like are kindness, intelligence, honesty, cats, modern history, film photography, Frasier, Blackadder, helping others, good food, Friday Street in the Surrey Hills and of course old films. I have two favourites, The Blue Lamp and The Remains Of The Day, but I enjoy many others, including The Ipcress File, The Sound Barrier (where Sir Ralph Richardson gives a masterful portrayal of repressed emotion), The Cruel Sea and of course, anything by Ealing Studios. Of more modern flicks The Duke is joyous.

My ideal match? Who knows? Surely it's about the chemistry of two people?
Having a specific template for an ideal match seems unrealistic, but kindness and being non-controlling seem not unreasonable starting points. I'd add that realistic distance seems sensible. I live in Hampton Middlesex.
