I think I'm a bit like a 'mixtape' - remember those?
I'm spontaneous, sometimes playful or surprising but also gentle and thoughtful - and I'll definitely make you smile...I have many sides and facets which I hope you will find intriguing and fun.
I'm a bit of a History geek and have a passion for World War I and the Elizabethans; I love architecture and 'secret' city walks whether in London or further afield - Paris is a particular favourite - and am looking for an equally curious partner to join me in this.
I have a wonderful family with two grown-up children whom I adore. I love travelling - a highlight was managing to see a three-hour Northern Lights show in Norway which was incredible. I’m very into music and listen to all sorts from Sam Smith and Stevie Nicks to Rutter and Tavener. And there’s nothing I like better than playing the piano on dark winter days to lift the soul.
Theatre, film, live gigs and art are also passions of mine. I keep fit with the gym (this can definitely be a chore), yoga and walking. I’m a bit of a romantic at heart and am just as comfortable watching the new Alien film 'Romulus' (thrilling by the way) as I am with a romcom like When Harry Met Sally.
Having had two fulfilling careers, one teaching truculent teenagers English and History (someone has to do it) and second in newspaper journalism, I took early retirement and thought about this for quite a while before deciding to take the plunge.
