About him
Well-travelled and experienced many different cultures, giving a broader understanding and range of views. I lived and worked for many years in Europe and before that for a short time in Japan.
I look at the details where most people only look at the overall outline, because that is where you will find the problems that will most likely trip you up. I like to think that I still hold old-fashion values. Respect and responsibility are important to me, concepts that appear to have largely been lost in our society today, but still remain the cornerstone of European cultures.
Avid reader of any topic from Sci-Fi to palaeontology and everything in between. Very practical by nature and turn my hand to most things (but I can't plaster a wall to save my life). Will find an answer to most questions and dive into a spot of research when I can't. I enjoy discussions that challenge my thoughts and opinions, and happy to change them when faced with new information that I hadn't previously considered or come across.
I enjoy cooking and my exposure to different cultures has given me an insight into a broad range of tastes and cuisines. I like to experiment once I have gained a bit of experience, but equally happy at simply following recipes. My main pleasure and motivation in cooking is for somebody else and seeing their appreciation.
I have been involved in many sports and pastimes over the years, from sailing, paragliding, skiing motorbikes and currently very involved in archery. This last one has led to an interest in using my carpentry skills to make traditional English longbows and wooden arrows.
All of this is very well and more than fills my time very productively but there to be someone else as a part of all that.

Intelligent and questioning by nature. Well-read with a keen interest and knowledge in her own area of study. Someone who looks after herself and her appearance but not overly focused on following current fashion and trends in makeup and clothes. More of a "Classic" style. Think "French", "Italian", "Spanish", where simple understated chic says more. Someone who enjoys food but looks for what actually is healthy rather than what the media and food production companies tell us is healthy. I live in a rural environment and while I have lived in cities, it is not where I feel most comfortable. I like the open countryside, with forests to wander in against a backdrop of mountains. Some of my happiest times have been spending a day on alpine hikes and it is someone who can identify with that who I would like to meet.
