About her
My friends would describe me as vivacious, warm, caring. I would describe myself as a passionate, questioning person, with a curiosity about life and people. My life to date has revolved around Art & Design. I studied to Masters level in my subject, have spent most of my working life as a university lecturer and also as a textile designer for Mary Quant.
Originally from the West Coast I've spent time living in London, Yorkshire, Cumbria and various places in Scotland. For the past four years I have combined my painting with a part-time job with National Galleries Scotland in Edinburgh. However having recently got a young whippet I'm taking a break from the job.
My artwork reflects my concern with respecting and protecting the natural environment. I like to be outdoors, cliff-top seabird watching and taking daily walks at our local beach Portobello, as well as the beautiful coast of East Lothian. I also very much enjoy the stimulation of the city and what it has to offer. I spend time visiting Scottish islands, also Greece and Italy, hope to visit Japan as love their aesthetic and culture.
I have one 28 year-old daughter living in London.
I’m a big reader and enjoy a range of genres- biography, contemporary fiction, poetry. I would struggle to live without music. I enjoy a visit to the cinema, often the lesser - known films rather than the big blockbusters. I don't watch a huge amount of TV, preferring the radio, but I am partial to a Scandi drama or nature documentary. I am a combination of extrovert and introvert and get my energy from both being with people and some quiet time.

My sense of humour is one of my best traits and I believe laughter is key to a happy life, along with sensitivity, authenticity and an enquiring mind.
Not frightened of showing your feelings and willing to talk - for me good communication is key in a relationship - to be comfortable in your own skin. Someone who might share my love of the sea and who lives in a way that respects the environment.

Susan is a warm, friendly individual who treasures both moments of creativity, solitude and shared experiences. Having shared two flats with her over the years I can testify that like her beloved dog she is fully house trained. She is an avid reader and painter, who values her creative time, where she can immerse herself in her work.

What's not to like about Susan? We have been friends for many years and she has always been loyal and supportive. She is full of fun and outgoing and brings laughter to any social situation making people feel comfortable and welcomed.
She is bright and interesting and enjoys stimulating conversation. An accomplished artists her work often reflects her love of the sea and wildlife. She loves books and music and film. She has eclectic taste and is open to new genres and experiences. She loves to travel and has a special affinity with Iona and Greece.
She is a strong, resilient and independent women with a loving and caring nature. To any dog lovers out there, she has the cutest whippet you've ever seen!

Susan is bright, bubbly , and a loving friend. She looks for the positives in life and values her friendships. Enjoying being close to nature and culture in equal measures she is also sensitive and gentle. This is shown through her artworks and constant curiosity about life. She has a Great sense of humour and keen sense of style and really loves to laugh! A genuine, generous soul who enjoys good food, films, reading, music, travelling in particular to Greece and Iona , good company . She can be cheeky which is fantastic and always makes you feel valued. I am delighted to have her as my dear friend.
