About her
This is the difficult bit! I am a cheerful and optimistic person with a good sense of humour. I am happy in my own company but also enjoy meeting up with my friends regularly. Since taking early retirement from my admin job in the NHS, I have had more time to do the things I enjoy. I love to read, go for walks, especially by the sea, and to work in my small garden, which is always a work in progress!
When I travel, I like to visit places of interest and enjoy beautiful scenery, rather than sit on the beach.
I love classical music, the ballet, art galleries, museums, wildlife, the countryside, and the sea. I am very interested in local and social history and am fascinated by the past. I started researching my family tree a few years ago and over time have discovered an increasing amount of information.
I have been learning to play Bridge for the past eighteen months which has proved very challenging and there is certainly a lot more to learn yet! It has also been great for making new friends.
I am not looking for a romantic relationship initially, but hoping to find some new hobbies and interests, and it would be great to share these with a like-minded person. I believe that any relationship is best based on friendship and if something more developed over time then that could be a bonus.

My ideal match is someone who has an easy going nature with a good sense of humour, who looks on the positive side of life and doesn't take himself too seriously. He would need to be someone who is polite and respects the opinion of others. Taking a pride in his appearance would be a must.
It would be important to share some hobbies and interests, a liking for the sea and countryside and a love of animals and wildlife is essential.
Smoking would be a deal breaker for me - as would be a sarcastic sense of humour!
