I consider myself independent, empathetic, caring and compassionate, and very active. A passionate gardener and cook, growing food to cook and eat, a lover of good food and wine and sharing it with friends. I value honesty and integrity, along with a keen sense of humour and an active lifestyle. I enjoy travel, particularly via very small ship/expedition cruising and am not a lover of sitting on a beach doing nothing, but it is not easy to do the things I enjoy on your own. I enjoy being on or around water on holidays, but not swimming in it! I like walking and the Lake District is one of my loves. A good organiser I am also very self motivated. I volunteer for the National Trust and within my community, since I retired from a senior management role with an engineering consultancy.

Widowed over three years ago , I would welcome a new partner in life to share my interests, but am happy to compromise on interests I do not share. I need my space too!
