About him
Always looking for new ideas, observing people and 'things' in many different
situations and places. Better with conversation rather than endless talking,
many interests outside - walking Caminos or hills and coastal walks over w/e
breaks in the UK and overseas. I have always been active, keen on many sports
both playing or watching. Enjoy reading wide cross section of authors and
always looking for new ideas. Not an over-commited sun sunbather on holiday
and happier in or under the water if given the choice. Humour and integrity
are very important to me.
I live on a farm in a beautiful area of South West Scotland but have spent
some time working in London and overseas in both Asia and Africa. I 'break
out' as and when on short trips in theUK for friend and family updates or
overseas to wherever and however the mood takes made. Flash hotels and chic
resorts may be fun but not where I dream about in the pleasure of planning my
journeys.... I remain open minded on most things I hope and am a good listener
for alternative ideas in most things. I enjoy meeting new people when they
visit and on my overseas adventures. For the last four years I have walked
various different routes - mainly centuries old pilgrimage routes - to
Santiago de Compostella and to Finisterre from across France, Southern Spain
and from Oporto in Portugal. I have a passion for the combination of meeting
interesting characters from across the globe in different circumstances and
not knowing ahead where to lay my head that night. Every day in life my sun
will always shine....
I am determined to keep in shape, take lots of exercise walking, running,
swimming and regular Yoga. I am, also involved as a volunteer in various
guises which I find very rewarding - I hope for both sides......
Travel is hugely important to me but not where there is overtourism. Mountains and sea are always attractive but finding quiet routes and amazing places of beauty to enjoy are what I seek out.

Above all fun, to know when silence is golden and timely with an amusing
anecdote to swap in times of need. I love lots of smiles and fun loving
friends who are happy to pick up a challenge. A balance of looks, positive
attitude and pride in oneself is important to me. However I have and never
will spend anytime on any Catwalk.
Enjoying good food, finding hidden gems - whether a restaurant, café, picnic
or holiday spot or an old cinema....all adds up to the attractions in life. A
sense of adventure is almost critical but need not be death defying....just
inspirational and time enough to give great memories to save for ever. A
fellow traveller would be interested enough to learn some of the local dialect
-however weird it might be....as respect starts with Hello in any language.'
