About him
Rough few years with loss of my wife and in-laws in short order. Now looking to restart my life and not be half a couple any more. Traveled widely and still aiming to do so but need someone to share the adventure with as sitting at home is not part of my DNA. Relocated to a converted barn in a small hamlet (a whole 12 houses) to enjoy a rural environment but be close enough to civilisation if required.
Not a lothiario but no desire to be a monk either. Can be a little reserved until I get to know you but apparently I do loosen up to be good company. Involved with some community and charity work (IT classes for the older members of the community and a flying charity-admin and pilot). Not a bad cook. Reportedly have a sharp wit, but sometimes the mouth gets involved before it passes through the "should I be saying this?" filter.
Enjoy a good conversation/debate (on just about any topic) with someone who can enter in to the spirit of the sport. Enjoy the great out doors but gyms and other torture chambers are not on my to-do list. As far as hobbies, enjoy flying (own aircraft), films, reading, eclectic mix of music etc.
I miss female companionship and am looking for a genuine relationship but I am not daft enough to think this can happen without passing through compatibility and friendship first. Not averse to quiet nights in with my partner but I think regular date nights are important to keep a relationship healthy.

Someone with whom I can converse, share experiences, make plans and have adventures. Not a shrinking violet and looking for a grown up relationship in all its aspects. Friendship before anything more but not just a platonic relationship. Someone who can surprise me occasionally and can give as well as she gets. Probably someone who has had a professional or academic career and still has an enquiring mind.
