About him
I would describe myself as a gentleman and like to be smart, even if casual.
I am a widower, though that is what I am not who I am.
I am not looking for a replacement wife but for a new life partner in her own right.
I am cautiously hoping that there is a special someone with whom I can enjoy romance, life, adventure and travel.
I share Marc Chagall's view that, "In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love".
A pragmatist but at the same time an incurable romantic, whose idea of the best film ever made is Brief Encounter and not ashamed to admit it.
I am still working in a professional capacity, where honesty and integrity are vital.
Work is mentally stimulating but ultimately a means to an end. Having the right person with whom to share life is a true raison d'etre.
I have travelled extensively and wish to continue to do so - with a life partner to share the experience. The world (alone) is not enough.
As that great philosopher Winnie the Pooh said, “It isn’t much good having anything exciting, if you can’t share it with somebody.”
I like to keep fit, mostly by walking. I also do some voluntary work.
Politically, I am Conservative (still!). If that doesn't make me an optimist, I don't know what would.
