I have 5 very special grown-up children and 8 lovely grandchildren.

I have a passion (lifelong) for learning, especially history, natural history, and biography.
I have recently started volunteering for the Horniman Museum (an absolute gem!) in Forest Hill. My role is to engage with visiting children and families - a great opportunity to share my love of the natural world and how it evolved.
I love making things - especially working with wood. My most ambitious project to date is the carved rocking horse.
I am hopelessly in love with books! (A room without books is like a body without a soul)
I am also an aspiring writer and would still love to get published. Hope really does spring eternal!
I am a Romantic at heart and have occasionally been described as a 'lovely guy with a big heart'!

My own children, although grown-up with their own lives, are still extremely important, so someone who gives their family the same priority.

I met Mike several years ago through a walking group. We soon realised we shared wide ranging interests including exploring museums etc., lunchtime church music concerts, talks and walking in London and further afield.
He's kind, caring and interested in others. Very fond of his family and has looked after grandchildren to help out.
He's of a slim build, and photo is recent and good likeness.
Ours has been a platonic friendship but his many interests and thirst for learning about anything and everything would ensure common ground with most people and he'd be good fun to be with.
