About him
Being asked to describe my personality is like being asked to mark your own work! I am reasonably level-headed, optimistic, happy (most of the time) and not too boring or serious.
After spending many years tied to the yoke of work and following my early retirement, I’m still trying to find something that really interests me (god, I do sound boring). I find interest in the simplest things; the countryside, a sunny morning, a cold, frosty day, time with friends (not implying they’re simple things!). I very much enjoy good company, fine dining and nice wine (preferably with good company), art, antiques, shopping (yes, really). I’m not into sport - save for the occasional game of rugby - (it’s official, I am boring 😳).
N.B. I don’t dance, for which I have a valid reason - unless it’s the Hokey-Kokey, and I can throw my left leg in! I have lost both legs below the knee (it’s a long, boring story and involves a shark, SeaWorld, feeding time, a tin of pilchards and Pinocchio🤥- oh, and big noses do run in my family - so if you’re not into big noses, I’m definitely not your man). As a consequence, I wear prosthetic legs which can’t be seen in my photo’s. Who said the camera never lies! If you haven’t guessed by now, I do like rambling - and I don’t mean rambling in the countryside!
Serious bit over, I’m looking for a meaningful friendship; someone to share the happy times (and not-so-happy times, but hopefully they will be few and far between) and let’s see where this wonderful journey of life takes us.
I’m not really open to long distance relationships (friendships, yes).
Finally, and most sincerely, I would also point out, that I’m fairly new to this, and not sure of the etiquette involved. If I visit your profile and I don’t leave a message, its because I just don’t want to appear too presumptuous (and not everyone is into false legs, big noses or tinned pilchards for that matter). It would be lovely to receive a message also - if simply to say ‘Hello’ or you’re a ‘fan’. Life will never be boring again.
