About him
I am a patient, generous, intelligent gentle man who is happier when sharing life and living rather than making his way in splendid isolation. I can and do enjoy being alone but there is a limit. There are times when solitude nudges into loneliness. I am naturally creative, industrious and talented in many practical areas but self aware and humble enough to know that two heads really are most often much better than one. I like order and structure in my life also find in my life but also enjoy surprises, I can enjoy those "grasp the moment" times when responding to unexplained and unplanned opportunity. I dislike indecision and selfishness. I am romantic, tender and tactile. I am happy when giving to others.
I enjoy the experience of discovery and am well travelled. Once an active sportsperson but now most often an enthusiastic spectator. I garden. More with vegetables than things floral, draw well but paint badly. Watch very little T.V. avoid news; currently largely consisting of the Worlds troubles but enjoy theatre, drama and music in many forms. I was a sixties adoelscent who CAN remember the era.
I have a committed interest and passion for cuisine. Cook, both well and with enthusiasm. I enjoy eating out, sometimes at "high end" restaurants but spend much of my recreational time planning and preparing to entertain friends and family at home. I spent a number of "post-retirement" years in commercial kitchens.
I am very much a family man with my own adult children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Their part in my life is important but not overriding.
About his ideal match
My ideal match would hopefully be honest, sincere, with integrity and the ability and habit of communicating well. Trusting, and free of prejudice.
Possess emotional intelligence and with a capacity to be able to respect, accept and value differences.
A desire or willingness to to "have a try", take risks.
An ability to plan and prepare combined with the contrasting capacity to do it first and worry later.
Be equally happy in elegant dress in a upmarket hotel at home or abroad or in jeans and muddy wellies in the Yorkshire Dales.
I do not expect or actively search for a photographic model but I am unlikely to find physical attraction with someone over dress size 16. Height is immaterial but a soothing voice and warm hand held is to be treasured.
Finding a partner who is currently living within a reasonable distance would obviously assist the development of a well informed relationship. Where this is not the case, there would be some requirement for access good public transport. I currently am a car owner and do drive but there can be no guarantee that this situation will not change in the future.
