About him
If you asked my friends about me I think they'd say my greatest strengths are my humour and kindness. They'd probably describe me as quirky and fun to be around and a great story teller (and no that doesn't mean I'm an inveterate liar.) I love cooking, nice wine, music, irreverent humour, beach walks, and watching a good documentary.
Humanist, epicurean, music lover, nature lover, and animal lover. I've been known to meditate, and trained in mindfuless before it became an industry. My happy place is in the kitchen cooking, listening to music and sharing good wine with friends and family.
I’m well travelled and like people who are curious about the world. Own house, mortgage free, own car, blah blah. I have two lovely sons who are fine young men in good jobs in London and Oxford. I have just sold my beautiful cottage in a stunning area in SW Scotland and bought a place back in Rutland. Only thing missing is a someone to share walks, music, meals, and laughs. I miss taking someone's hand in public. Come on, we're getting to the age when we have old people's rights and can do what we want. Let's enjoy the next chapter.
I'm not interested in weeks and weeks of endless texting. I'd rather meet fairly quickly (I'm willing to travel obviously) for a walk or a quick drink to see if there is a spark or the possibility of one down the line. I'll introduce you to Sid, and no that's not a euphemism. He's my dog.
In terms of hobbies I'd say walking and talking to random people I meet. I often get their life stories. We're social animals so no more lockdowns please. I don't play golf, wash my car religiously every Sunday or collect things, although I do have a dead insect collection I keep on my car number plate. I know we all have a certain amount of baggage at our age but no haulage please. Life is too short.

Ideal match would be someone reasonably intelligent and humorous, who can laugh at the absurdity of life in these strange times. Humour, a happy disposition and self-confidence are sexy. Someone who likes dogs, music, and would enjoy meeting my children. Someone who appreciates good food and wine. Someone tolerant, and not closed off to other people's opinions. Someone who would laugh at my jokes and dance with me in the kitchen.
