About him
When choosing my username it seemed to suggest using something other than your name so I ummd and errrd and first thought was the film i'd recently seen, Licorice Pizza, in part because it was a great name for a film, in part because it was a film that captured that energy, sparkle and enthusiasm of youth that is nice to tap into every now and then and more simply because it was such a good film albeit controversial. I recommend it. And what is a licorice pizza? I had no idea until I looked it up. I shan’t tell you! So, we're supposed to write a bit about ourselves, writing about myself is definitely not my chosen subject! but, here goes, just a few lines, interest, clearly films, books, currently reading North Water by Ian McGuire, the outdoors, I do a fair amount of cycling, I like to keep active/fit, cafe/bars (but only a light drinker), live music, varied music tastes but as I’m writing this I’m listening to Alex Turner/Shadow Puppets, I enjoy travel when it happens, exploring, I'm lucky in that I find my work interesting, I'm NHS/health, the photo added was taken whilst I was out and about visiting today, i'm a photographer too (people/performing arts) but some of my ventures there have been on hold because of Covid, I like the radio/podcasts, without being corny, family, friends, company of others are what is most important, in particular time spent with my kids, well, not so kids now with two grown up but youngest is still at school. I'd say I'm left of centre politics wise, it saddens me the damage Johnson/Brexit has done to this country. Always hard to sum yourself up but I'd go for I'm out-going but shy type, confident but not overly confident. Life’s contradictions! Going back to the film I guess what I’m about is accepting your age but not to lose that sparkle for life.

I like life's unexpected so even though I might have thoughts of what I might be looking for in someone else, I'm not one to say I'm looking for this or looking for that, it's sometimes surprising who you connect with and I like that. The differences can be as important as the similarities. You don’t have to have seen a good film recently, that was just a random opener.
