Somewhat quirky and very curious. I like to think I’m pretty unshockable but am delighted when something does throw me – shows there is more to learn…
Laughter is paramount – life without humour would be so, so dull.
I’m essentially retired but I do write – journalistic pieces, mostly tennis-related, more to keep my brain active and satisfy that curiosity than to earn money. Which is just as well since freelancers barely scrape a living.
I play and watch a lot of tennis – have done since I was a kid – played and travelled the world in the past – a great way to travel without being a tourist.
I sing, I uke, I love latin dance (but v out of practice since COVID put a stop to that).
I’ve travelled to strange places – Siberia, Pakistan, Chile, Serbia… I love islands and I love deserts.
I’ve lived in Israel, France, New Zealand and am pretty passionate about language and languages, especially Romance ones.
And food is incredibly important to me – eating, cooking, talking about it, learning about new tastes, spices etc. I could never go out with a vegan – that would depress me.
I enjoy a fairly healthy lifestyle but with all that delicious food and wine to be had, I am definitely not on the skinny side.

My ideal match would be into sport and love food – and they would need to be funny and also to get my sense of irony - kind, warm, open to new experiences and definitely not prudish. Experimental perhaps? Interpret that how you will.
Competitive, critical, unkind are big turnoffs. And I can't take too much in the way of spirituality. Laughter and openness are what I look for. And a few extra pounds rather than skinny is what I would wish for.
As well as a tendency to be completely daft...
Reasonably central London-based would be good - not so far that I can't drop in for a cuppa.
