About him
Here goes.....I work in education and love my work. Otherwise you might find me painting or drawing, getting lost in music, novels or nature, practising creative cooking,cycling, skiing, backpacking, planting spring bulbs in my garden, trying to speak a new foreign language, strolling by the river, picking ripe tomatoes in my allotment…
I've lived abroad in the US and later worked in France which gave me a dose of Francophilia I still haven't shaken off. Travelled to Peru, India, China, Japan, Egypt, Israel, and backpacked through swathes of Europe last year.
I'm the lucky dad of two lovely sons and a beautiful daughter, the oldest now 23. They're a major part of my life.
Still hungry for all of life’s pleasures....pescatarian by conviction but love cooking and eating good food. Give me oak-smoked salmon with buttered new potatoes, fresh asparagus, a chilled glass of Muscadet and I'm all set up…..Hmmm, your plate does look interesting, though. Could we go halves?
Inspired by books, nature and music: David Attenborough, Omar Khayyam, George Orwell. Yeol Eum Son, Carl Friedrich Gauss…. But can also be found watching Life of Brian till the cows come home. (OK, not necessarily a plus …no, I won’t forget to turn the light off.)
Love meandering discussions on people, places and ideas. Good food and drink help the flow. Sitting round a campfire in the twilight with friends tops it all off.
I think of myself as honest, adventurous, [xxx less complimentary adjectives redacted xxx], affectionate and loyal. Hopefully, you would too. I get passionate about justice, social and natural. Good friends know when it’s time to nod and smile.
Plenty more to say but interactive is so much more fun, don’t you think? I love to chat and, for me, a good conversation can be an end in itself.

A good start would be to find someone sharing my basic values and a sense of complicity. Humour makes it all work.
A lively, forward-looking mind is more important than a toned bod....but a nicely-kept body really isn't going to be a problem.
Things will be a lot easier if you're left of centre and love the natural world. If Caroline Lucas were on this website, I'd be the first in her inbox!
You should be ok with thinking well outside the box, have a youthful attitude to life and plenty of brains and energy!
