Are you surprised you're here too? I'm very uncertain about this whole online dating thing, but in the spirit of nothing ventured nothing gained, I'm giving this one last try in the hope you're out there somewhere.........
Young in outlook - although the passage of time and hairline says one thing, my brain certainly says another, so I remain in denial. Very lucky though to still be fit, active and enjoy the outdoors. Those things would be so much better for there to be a special someone to do them with as, lovely as they are, all my friends are in partnerships and I'm fed up of being the third wheel when out at theatre, gigs, meals or whatever. Hence their encouragement of me doing this in the hope that they'll meet you soon.

I'd like to find a connection that means I can share my thoughts, feel cared for, give affection in return and, above all, laugh and enjoy life together. Travel is a big thing for me and I'd like to have the excitement of planning and visiting new places in the UK and abroad with 'that person' as well as sharing all the everyday things together. It'd be great to find that special someone who is genuine, will make me laugh, is willing try new things and explore new places. I realise you may not be on my doorstep - I'm giving this weird world of online dating a whirl as we may have never met otherwise. I am not looking for serial dates or an electronic pen pal. I'm blessed with fantastic family and friends, but what I'd like to find is that special person to share the ups and downs of life with and who I would be proud to introduce them to.
The whole process of starting a new relationship gets a lot harder as you get older and attraction is a very different thing when you're our age as opposed to when we were younger. Everyone has their own interests and friendships cultured over many years that have forged them into the person they are today and I'm looking to discover and enjoy those things in a new partner, not replace them.
Bonus points if you like dogs (I currently don't have my own but love 'em and happily look after ones for my friends and family) and enjoy being on/in/beside water - the clue's in the title!.
The only deal breaker I can think of would be smoking - I'm not a fan I'm afraid.
