I am sociable, caring and I value my wonderful family and friends. I am not materialistic and status/status symbols don't interest me. I love the outdoors and go walking often. Cooking and sharing a meal with someone I care about is also something I very much enjoy. I'm really into the Arts and all things cultural. I speak French and Italian fluently and am also currently learning Spanish as one of my daughters lives in Spain. I love travel and had travelled fairly extensively, but there are loads of places still to visit! I am an avid reader and have a passion for books - I work part-time in a charity bookshop. I volunteer at a local Literature Festival each year and attend the International Film Festival too as I love independent film and world cinema. I have a strong aversion to inequalities and injustices, but I am optimistic and have a positive outlook on life.

I am looking for someone with honesty and integrity and a similar positive outlook to mine to share good times with. Evenings spent eating in or out or going to the cinema, theatre or live music, daytimes spent going for country walks or visiting galleries and exhibitions all appeal. I'm interested in someone with a zest for life, who takes care of their health and shares some of my own interests. Equally, though, I am open to being introduced to new interests and new adventures.
