I enjoy walking, bird watching, wildlife, reading and music, especially live bands playing the blues and rock, and opera. I also like going to the cinema and theatre, and occasional meals out.
I am independent but would like to share outings and adventures with someone who likes socialising
and making new friends.
In the past I have enjoyed travelling to places such as China, Europe, America and Canada. These days I do not enjoy hot weather/heatwaves so I keep to the beautiful British Isles. I do not consider it a hardship and have enjoyed some cracking holidays in counties new to me.
I am diabetic (type 2), my illness is controlled by diet and drugs, (not insulin), and it does not have much impact on my life. I am looking for someone who is caring and honest and who will enjoy getting out and about in places like Derbyshire. Although I am not into sport, I like to be outdoors and visit new places. I am a member of the National Trust, RSPB, Notts Wildlife Trust, and Cats Protection League. I would like to meet someone who also enjoys the great outdoors and all it offers so that we can share days out together. If things progress it would be nice to share weekends away or holidays. However, my camping days are over as I like my home comforts too much. A cottage in the wilds of Scotland would be ideal. Not bothered about going to hot countries as intense heat no longer suits me. Not interested in a heavy drinker - that would be a deal-breaker, as would a smoker.
