I'm a friendly, cheerful, outgoing type of chap.
I love to travel; skiing & cycling are my sporting passions, despite my legs protesting at times.
Life can be busy but I really value time with friends and family when we put the world to rights, pretend we know everything about anything and laugh until our tummies ache! Such a great feeling. I'm not sure someone with all the time in the world on their hands could cope with my independent streak but I would certainly make time for the right person.
I'm genuine, honest and caring and try to bring out the best in people.
I'd love to meet someone interested in bringing out the best in me too.

wants to travel but appreciates the value of a beautiful home,
is intelligent but not superior,
is confident but not arrogant,
is fit and active but not exercise-obsessed,
is fun but not frivolous,
can wear a LBD with killer heels in the evening but pulls on jeans & wellies the next morning ....?
Some friends say that good relationships are based on sharing common interests, but I've met people that share many of my interests (e.g. travelling, the arts, music (classical or modern), literature, architecture as well as skiing, cycling, cooking, etc.) but were definitely not someone I would want a friendship or relationship with.
Oh gosh! I really don't know. That all sounds so prescriptive and life doesn't work that way. However, if you are a party animal who needs a drink to have fun we probably won't be a great match, though the ability to hold your own during an evening of craic in a busy Irish pub wouldn't go amiss (I have another home in Southern Ireland and many convivial friends there).
A genuinely nice person who understands and tolerates me as an individual ... and who I could understand too!
Honesty and frankness are crucial.
It is impossible to define who would make me happy.
All I do know is that it may take time to get to know someone properly.
